What is the largest size kit or highest plant count kit you have?
The largest kit we offer is for 8 plants. But please see the Room Builder on our website as a great resource to help build any room.
Water continues to flow after I cut the pump off, how do I stop my reservoir from draining or siphoning?
To stop a siphon please refer to this video. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NZPVo-3NJ-Y
Can I use the Bubblers or Manifolds with vinyl or PE tubing, or can they only be connected with PVC?
The QDPS (bubbler/manifold) are only compatible with rigid schedule 40 or 80 pvc pipe and/or schedule 40 flex PVC.
What is the Nylon Valve (solenoid) used for?
Our Nylon Valve allows you to break sections of your garden into zones or sections to maintain consistent dispersion of water throughout each zone and to each plant. It also helps stop siphons too.
When do I need a Nylon Valve or solenoid?
Below are a few situations where you would want to use our Nylon Valve. 1. When you have multiple zones or sections and they have different feeding requirements. 2. You are using ¾” pvc pipe for your zone and the flow rate exceeds 23 GPM. 3. You are using 1” pvc pipe for your zone and the flow rate exceeds 37 GPM. 4. You are using the 16/17mm tubing and the flow rate exceeds 5 GPM, per lateral.
What is the minimum PSI required when using or operating the Nylon Valve or solenoid?
What is the maximum PSI of the Nylon Valve or solenoid?
150 PSI
What kind of Pumps are recommended when using Nylon Valves?
Pumps that have a built in pressure switch or solenoid can be excellent choices for multiple zone setups. They sense a loss in pressure when a Nylon Valve is opened and automatically turns the pump on to water a zone, and shuts it off when the valve is closed.
What size Nylon Valve or solenoid do you offer?
Our Nylon Valves are available in ¾” and 1” female thread.
Are the Nylon Valves normally closed?
Yes, when set on the auto position the Nylon Valve will open only when powered on.
What are the O, AUTO, C positions on the Nylon Valve?
O - Is the open position, when set to this position the valve will be opened and allow water to flow through freely. Auto - Is the automatic position, when set to this position the valve will not allow any water to flow through until it is powered on. C - Is the closed position, when set to this position the valve will not allow any water to flow through even if the valve is connected to a power source and powered on.
How tightly should I turn the Nylon Valve when installing and should I use a teflon tape (plumbers tape).
No more than a 1/2 turn past once you feel it is tight. Wrap it 6-8 times with Teflon tape.
Can the Nylon Valve or solenoid help prevent a siphon?
Yes, the nylon valves will prevent a siphon. They are normally closed valves. When set to the auto position they will only open when powered on. In most cases the Nylon Valve is installed at the entry point or the beginning of a zone. See infographics for setup on the website. https://www.instagram.com/p/COLEZzGhlfS/
Is it normal for the Nylon Valve to make a clicking sound when powered on?
What powers or turns on the Nylon Valve?
They need to be connected or hard wired to a power source such as an irrigation controller or 24V adapter/timer combo and set in the auto position.
Which filters do you recommend?.
