FloraCap Irrigation System

Are there International Sizes for the Quick Disconnect Pipe System?
Yes, we offer the 32mm Ts and Elbows.
Do you have any videos on how to install the QDPS or Bubblers Systems?
Yes, https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9oIAJMNnJJE (Shot videos of different setup, single vs. multi zone etc)
Can an Open Flow Bubbler be attached to an ebb and flow nozzle?
Yes, if the flow nozzle has a ½” or ¾” MPT attachment. The Flora Bubbler has a 1/2” fpt fitting and with a 3/4” fpt pitting quick disconnect fitting.
Why is my Air Bleed Valve spewing or discharging a lot of water?
The Air Bleed Valve typically lets out a small amount of water when the irrigation turns on, but if there is an excess flow then this is likely because of too little or too much pressure. Please install a PSI gauge in the system to ensure you are within the operating parameters.
Is it normal for the Air Bleed Valve to spit or discharge a small amount of water when the irrigation system turns on?
Yes, a little spurt is normal. Once the line has pressurized at 5 PSI the Air Bleed Valve will close and the irrigation system will flow as intended.
What pressure should be maintained with the Air Bleed Valve?
Between 15-100 PSI.
Where should the Air Bleed Valve be installed?
At the end of the line and at the highest point and/or 6”-12” above the last bubbler/manifold. If you are using a QDPS with an Elbow to cap off the end of your run/line, place the Air Bleed Valve between the last two bubblers of the line or run.
Is the Air Bleed Valve necessary with a 1 Bubbler Setup?
When do I need an Air Bleed Valve?
An Air Bleed Valve is not a necessity, but we recommend using it with all Quick Disconnect Pipe System setups to ensure even pressure throughout.
Why do I need an Air Bleed Valve?
Our Air Bleed Valve is used to prevent air locks that cause sputtering when your irrigation system turns on. When it turns on air pockets within the system are forced out of the Air Bleed Valve, then as the system pressurizes it closes the valve and uniformly feeds the rest of the system.
Do I use an Air Bleed Valve with the Micro Drip System?
No, air is released through the stakes as the lines pressurize. It is to be used with a manifold system only.
Is there a suggested pump with an Air Bleed Valve if my pump is too big or strong?
You can reduce pressure by adding a pressure regulator in the line so you fall within the operating PSI parameters of 15-100. Every setup is unique in its own way, there is no one size fits all for choosing a pump. Please see the How To Grow section of the website for infographics on Pump Sizing.
Should I still use a check valve if I'll be adding your Air Bleed Valve?
Yes, the Air Bleed Valve does not work as an anti siphon component.
Does the Air Bleed Valve solve siphoning issues?
No, the Air Bleed Valve only gets rid of excess air in the system when it turns on.
Where do I install my Air Bleed Valve?
Place your Air Bleed Valve at the end of each zone, 6” -12” above your last Quick Disconnect Pipe System (bubbler/manifold).
I have an Elbow fitting Quick Disconnect Pipe System as my last bubbler, where do I place the Air Bleed Valve?
Place the Air Bleed Valve in between your last (2) QDPS, a few inches from your last QDPS, and 6”-12” above the Bubbler.
What PVC pipe fitting do I use to connect my Air Bleed Valve to a ¾” PVC pipe?
3/4 in. PVC Schedule 40 Female S x FPT Adapter
What PVC pipe fitting do I use to connect my Air Bleed Valve to a 1” PVC pipe?
1 in. x 3/4 in. PVC Schedule 40 S x FPT Reducer Female Adapter
Do you have any videos on installing the Air Bleed Valve?
Yes. Air Bleed Valve Installation
I’m using one pump but the PVC branches or splits in multiple directions, does each branch require an Air Bleed Valve?
Though we suggest doing straight or single runs per zone, if you were to do this, each branch will need an Air Bleed Valve placed after and above the last bubbler at 6”-12”.
